Opposition is balance.

Who we are

"Tranquility is born out of a balance of restlessness."

- Domokos Szilágyi: Bartók in America

Line and Round is a two-person design studio specializing in objects, furniture, and spatial design.
We see design as a language of care—a deliberate craft where intentionality, precision, and a responsive approach guide every decision.
In our process, we build bridges between diverse viewpoints, nurturing synergies that enrich human experience and honor cultural values. Our work isn’t just about creating visually compelling objects or spaces; it’s about forging meaningful narratives that transform everyday interactions. By carefully integrating social and environmental considerations into every project, we craft designs that not only captivate but also connect people to their surroundings in a truly lasting way.

At Line and Round, every line and curve is thoughtfully rendered to echo our commitment to care, dialogue, and the thoughtful convergence of ideas.

Our philosophy

At Line and Round, we believe design is an evolving dialogue—a responsive process borne out of research, exploration, and the careful negotiation of diverse perspectives. We don’t simply follow trends; we redefine visual languages based on the specific context of each project.
For us, design is not a one-size-fits-all solution, but a tailored response to the unique needs of people, spaces, and environments. We approach each project as a story to be told, carefully structuring concepts with a foundational reasoning that guides every decision.

Our process taps into cultural, ethical, and social dimensions, ensuring that our work doesn’t just meet immediate needs, but anticipates the subtler demands of the future. Design for us is a careful negotiation between form, function, and meaning—never fixed, always adaptable. It's a tool for positive change, not merely for visual gratification. Most importantly, it’s a process that embodies balance, connecting people to their surroundings in ways that are both thoughtful and enduring.

Our team

Annabella hevesi

Head of Design

Annabella's journey into design began with a deep-rooted curiosity for the visual arts, nurtured during her early studies in animation and graphic design. Later, as an industrial design student at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, she honed her skills within an academic framework that shaped her perspective and sharpened her eye for form, function, and detail. This multidisciplinary foundation allows her to approach each project with a broad cultural and artistic understanding, blending analytical precision with intuitive creativity.
At Line and Round, Annabella shapes concepts and forms, researches emerging materials and technologies, and meticulously brings each design to life through 3D modeling, rendering, and detailed documentation. Her work tells stories—resonating with human experience and cultural context—often challenging the boundaries between objects and their surroundings.

Gábor Bella

Head of Production

Gábor’s path into the world of design developed gradually, beginning with a direct relationship to raw materials. Starting as a lumberjack, he learned the foundations of working with wood, advancing to carpentry, where he mastered the finer details of the craft. Over time, his understanding of materials, combined with his empathy, cultural sensitivity, human-centered approach, and curiosity, naturally led him toward design.
Gábor’s role at Line and Round embodies this dual expertise: he not only navigates the technical and logistical aspects of production but also understands the designer’s vision, enabling him to resolve complex structural challenges while respecting the aesthetic and functional integrity of each piece. His hands-on experience allows him to communicate seamlessly with both the designer and makers, ensuring that each project is realized with precision and clarity.
