The Roly-Poly series celebrates the legacy of Hungarian neo-avant-garde artist Ferenc Lantos, whose geometric experiments in the late 1960s transformed fragments of circles and squares into a dynamic visual language. Here, we distill that idea into a single modular unit—a sphere and a funnel—that can be combined in various sequences to create sculptural, functional compositions. This compositional approach not only results in a more economical production method but also provides diverse variations for users.

Each piece is crafted at the heritage-rich vitreous enamel factory in Bonyhád, the very place where Lantos once experimented with the technology. By embracing this nearly forgotten process, the lamps reintroduce a sustainable surface treatment that offers a compelling alternative to plastic-based powder coating, all while supporting a local craft tradition striving to remain relevant in the modern market.

Named after the beloved Roly-Poly toy of the same era, the lamps evoke a sense of playful nostalgia. Their forms gently reference the toy’s distinctive rocking motion, inviting curiosity and tactile interaction. At the heart of these lamps lies the concept of continuity—both in material and cultural significance. Through the Roly-Poly series, enamel reclaims its rightful place in contemporary design, proving that heritage can be both preserved and reimagined for a new generation.
